Volume method: joint length × cross-sectional area. Rectangular joint fill uses width × depth. A triangular fillet bead uses one-half of width × depth. Package count is rounded up after your extra-material percentage is applied.

The tool uses your measurements and your product's package volume instead of assuming a specific brand, sealant yield, waste percentage, or job condition. Can I enter fractional joint sizes such as 1/4 inch?

Yes. Width and depth fields accept decimals such as 0.25 and fractions such as 1/4 or 3/8. Mixed fractions such as 1 1/2 also work.

How many linear feet will one tube of caulk cover?

Coverage depends on the joint width, depth, and bead profile, so there is no single linear-foot number for every job. Enter the package volume and joint measurements in this calculator to see the estimated feet per package for each joint run.

What is the difference between rectangular joint fill and a triangular fillet bead?

Rectangular joint fill uses the full width × depth cross-section. A triangular fillet bead uses one-half of that rectangular area. Choose the profile that best matches the geometry you are estimating.

Does the calculator assume a waste percentage?

No. Extra material starts at 0%. Enter the allowance you want to use for the actual job.

Can I use a package size other than 10.1 fl oz?

Yes. The package-volume field is editable. Replace the starting value with the volume printed on the cartridge, tube, foil pack, or other package you plan to use.

Does this calculator select the correct sealant or joint design?
