This planner does not calculate drive time, traffic, loading or unloading duration, route order, truck capacity, weight, or legal operating requirements. Back-to-back jobs may still need additional travel or setup time even when no overlap warning appears.

How to use the moving dispatch planner

  1. Choose the dispatch date and add the crew members and trucks available to your operation.
  2. Add each moving job with the planned start and end time, customer or job reference, origin, destination, and optional cubic footage.
  3. Assign one or more crew members and a truck to each job. The planner flags overlapping assignments for the same crew member or truck.
  4. Review the warnings, adjust your schedule as needed, then copy, export, save, or print the dispatch plan.

Daily crew and truck scheduling for moving companies

A moving dispatch board needs to answer a practical question: which jobs are scheduled, which crew members are assigned, and which truck is committed during each time window? This planner keeps those details together and checks the schedule for double-booked crew members or trucks.

Jobs remain in the order you enter them. The planner does not optimize a route or estimate travel time between moves, so dispatchers should leave enough time for driving, setup, fuel, breaks, and other operational needs.

Frequently asked questions

What counts as an overlapping assignment?

Two valid jobs overlap when one starts before the other ends and they share the same crew member or truck. If one job ends exactly when the next job starts, that is not treated as a time overlap.

Does this planner calculate drive time between moving jobs?

No. It checks only the start and end times you enter. Travel time, traffic, route order, loading time, and unloading time must be planned separately.

Can I leave a crew or truck unassigned?

Yes. A job can remain unassigned while you build the schedule. The planner only checks conflicts for crew members and trucks that are actually assigned.

Does the planner automatically assign the best crew or truck?

No. Assignments are manual. The tool is designed to help a dispatcher organize the day and see double-booking conflicts, not make staffing or fleet decisions automatically.
