Build a handyman punch list
Use this near the end of a job to track remaining corrections and rechecks. A punch item should describe the specific work that still needs attention.
1. Project details
Customer / property and punch list date are required before copying, exporting, or printing.
Using the Handyman Job Sheet & Work Order Maker? Load saved project details and a compact reference to the original job tasks. Punch items are not created automatically.
2. Punch list items
Any row you start needs a Punch item / correction. Use status to move each item from open work through recheck and completion.
3. Punch list status
Open and in-progress items remain the main closeout workload. Ready for recheck keeps finished corrections separate until they are verified.
4. Closeout notes
Keep remaining materials, return visits, handoff notes, and final closeout details with the punch list.

General job-closeout worksheet only. This punch list is not a home inspection, code-compliance determination, safety certification, or specialist assessment. Use qualified or licensed specialists where required for electrical, plumbing, structural, hazardous-material, or other regulated work.
How to make a handyman punch list
- Enter the project details or load a saved Handyman Job Sheet for the original job reference.
- Add each remaining correction as its own punch item instead of rewriting the original scope.
- Use the category, assignee, status, and recheck notes to keep mixed repair and installation work organized.
- Move corrected items to Ready for recheck before marking them Complete when a separate verification step is useful.
- Record materials still needed, return-visit plans, customer handoff notes, and final closeout details before finishing the job record.
Handyman punch list template for final repairs and job closeout
A handyman punch list helps organize the last repairs, adjustments, installation corrections, hardware fixes, finish issues, cleanup items, and customer-requested corrections before a job is closed out. Each punch item can be tied to an area or fixture, assigned to a crew member, and tracked from Open to Complete.
This handyman punch list maker is built for small home-repair businesses that handle varied work instead of one single trade. It keeps closeout corrections separate from the original scope and from later change orders, while giving the crew a printable list for rechecks and final handoff.
Handyman punch list FAQ
What should be on a handyman punch list?
Include the specific correction, its area or item, the person assigned, current status, and any recheck details. You can also keep outstanding materials, customer walkthrough notes, and return-visit plans with the list.
Can I import a saved Handyman Job Sheet?
Yes. A usable saved job sheet can load the project details and a compact original-work reference. It does not automatically turn every job-sheet task into a punch item.
What is Ready for recheck?
Use Ready for recheck when the correction has been worked on but should be verified before you mark it Complete. If your workflow does not need a separate recheck, you can move directly to Complete.
Should added customer work go on the punch list?
Not automatically. If the request changes the original scope or price, a separate change order keeps the added work clearer. Use the punch list for final corrections and closeout items.
What happens if a punch row is only partly filled out?
Any started row needs a Punch item / correction. Incomplete started rows are highlighted and block Copy, CSV, and Print so they are not silently dropped.
Where is the saved punch list stored?
Save in Browser stores one local draft in this browser. It does not automatically sync to another device or browser.
