What is profit margin?

Profit margin shows estimated job profit as a percentage of job revenue. For example, a $250 profit on $650 of revenue is a 38.46% margin.

Is profit margin the same as markup?

No. Margin compares profit with revenue, while markup compares profit with cost. This calculator shows profit margin.

Should I include overhead?

Include an overhead amount if you want it reflected in this job's profitability calculation. The calculator does not estimate overhead for you.

Is this gross profit or net profit?
