Labor cost formula

The calculator first finds net work time per person, multiplies it by crew size, and then applies the hourly rate.

Net time per person × Crew size × Hourly rate = Labor cost

Example: 4-person crew at $22.50 per hour

Crew size4
Start time7:30 AM
End time12:00 PM
Unpaid break30 minutes
Time per person4 hr 00 min
Labor hours16.00
Hourly rate per person$22.50/hour
Estimated labor cost$360.00
Calculation: 4 hours × 4 people = 16 labor hours. 16 × $22.50 = $360.00.

Different hourly rates

If workers have different hourly rates, put them in separate entries. You can also group workers together when they have the same schedule and the same hourly rate.

Example: If two workers earn $20 per hour and one worker earns $28 per hour, use separate entries for the two rate groups.

Overnight shifts

If an end time is earlier than the start time, the calculator treats the end time as the following day.

Example: 10:00 PM → 2:00 AM = 4 hr 00 min before breaks.

Does this calculate payroll, overtime, or taxes?
